Our UCAN Academy is Now Hiring!

Comprised of two campuses in the Humboldt Park and Auburn-Gresham communities, UCAN Academy is an innovative K–12 year-round therapeutic day school. Collectively, our multi-accredited schools make up one of the largest and most recognized therapeutic day school operations in Chicago.

Our students come from diverse backgrounds and have experienced challenges in public or private school settings. Each has a unique set of needs addressed through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Enrolled from Chicago Public Schools and several suburban districts, many arrive feeling discouraged about learning.

Our goal is to help every student see schooling in a positive light and reach their highest potential. With small class sizes of 10 students and a 5:1 student-to-staff ratio, we provide targeted instruction and support to meet individual learning needs.

  • Leads the creation of a therapeutic environment using TCI, Restorative Justice, PBIS, and UCAN’s Clinical Philosophy while empowering staff and students.

  • Designs and delivers specialized instruction to meet the physical, emotional, and creative needs of students in a safe, respectful environment.

  • Supports classroom instruction, implements educational activities, and helps establish and achieve learning objectives alongside the teacher.
